Why buy your watch in Switzerland?

Switzerland is the home of fine watchmaking. Its market is deep, competitive and full of well-kept pieces, from current models at authorised dealers to rare vintage references that rarely leave the country.

Goods exported from Switzerland are generally not subject to Swiss VAT, and many models are listed at attractive prices compared with other markets. Your quote shows exactly how VAT is handled for your purchase, so you can compare with confidence.

Frequently asked questions

FAQ
Can you buy any watch sold in Switzerland?

In most cases, yes: watches from dealers, online shops, pre-owned specialists, private sellers and auctions. The seller must agree to sell to us and the watch must be legally exportable. Some brand boutiques allocate certain models only to their own clients; we cannot bypass waiting lists.

How much does your service cost?

Our service fee depends on the value and complexity of the purchase and is always shown separately in your written quote, together with the watch price and insured shipping. You know the total before you commit.

How do I pay?

By bank transfer to the Swiss business account of Dr. Import, after you have accepted the quote. You receive an invoice in your name. You never pay the seller directly.

How do I know the watch is genuine?

We inspect every watch against the listing and send you detailed photos and a video before shipping. For pre-owned watches we strongly recommend buying from reputable sellers with box and papers, and we can arrange an independent check by a Swiss watchmaker as an optional service.

Will I have to pay customs duties and taxes?

Usually yes. Your country decides what is due on import (import VAT or sales tax and sometimes customs duty). We tell you in advance whether these are prepaid with the shipment or collected by the courier on delivery.
